Hey everyone! Meet Sandra and Maddy, cofounders of Retrofit! 👋

🤝The Team

Sandra gained hands-on experience by volunteering at several vintage stores in New York to understand their operations and vintage shopper’s behaviors. Her background is as a product leader at two different ecommerce startups. She met Maddy while getting her MBA at Stanford. Maddy brings her expertise in computer vision from her time at Google and Stanford CS. She led two computer vision patents during her time at Google.

The secondhand apparel market is booming — it’s estimated at $43 billion in 2024 in the US and expected to grow to over $125 billion by 2034. However the existing players have not kept up with this demand.

Shoppers want to buy more vintage online, but many don’t because the selection is overwhelming, inventory is low quality, and online secondhand shopping feels like work. Shopping secondhand often means sifting through garbage inventory and being an expert to find that incredible one-of-a-kind vintage gem. But this can finally change…

Retrofit's AI agents sift through hundreds of thousands of listings from vintage sellers across the country, to find the best inventory. The company relies on sales and trends data to determine what type of items people are looking for and then add only the best inventory based on factors such as brand, price, materials, and condition.

Retrofit's inventory is personalized to your style and needs. Give them your style pinterest board or other inspo photos and the team will personalize your recommendations. If they don’t have exactly what you are looking for right now, you can tell them what you are looking for and the Retrofit AI agents will find it for you.
