"Get insights without burdening your data team"
Tl;dr - Accessing and synthesizing data is a challenge, with existing tools requiring too much effort and expertise.
Enter Spine: An AI-powered data platform built for decision-makers that handles your data in any format. Teach it your business context, to get reliable answers from databases, documents, and websearch. Gather your insights in customizable reports that automate multi-modal analysis and keep insights traceable.
To celebrate F24 Demo Day, they are offering free access to a YC dataset in Spine, giving investors and observers a deep dive into batch F24’s companies, founders, and opportunities.

The problem
There is no shortage of data and information, or reasons to access it. Improving operations, identifying the most successful initiatives, or clarifying key drivers of revenue. But accessing and synthesizing this information from various sources can be an uphill battle.
Many tools available for working with data make it difficult to get to the right information without significant time and effort. Technical experts often have to unlock access for decision makers, and even then, critical details locked in documents, slide decks, or PDFs are hard to uncover and integrate effectively.
While platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini offer “chat with your data” functionality—such as answering questions about uploaded spreadsheets or generating text-to-SQL queries—they don’t go far enough. None of these solutions offer an end to end solution that’s suitable for scalable use.
You need to already have the right data, in a clean format, and not too much. The big LLM providers can find some new information for you, but it can’t give you structured data at scale, and it’s not up to date.
It’s not enough to just do text to SQL. It can speed up querying, but there’s a lot of business context that needs to be applied to make answers accurate and useful, and Custom GPTs don’t cut it.
There’s no good way to update information, add more data, or deal with multiple formats and sources at the same time. People often don’t know the best place to find the information they are looking for, and most LLMs can’t help with that at scale.
You can’t easily collect the insights you’ve generated from LLMs, share them, or re-trace your steps if there are questions about the source. If you want to replicate a similar process for your analysis there’s no straightforward way, especially if it involves multi-modal data.
The major BI and analytics tools solve some of these problems, but they don’t really deliver on conversational functionality, and definitely don’t support multi-modality.
Which is why they have built a better way.
The solution
Spine is a multi-modal AI analyst platform designed for decision-makers, delivering an end to end solution which includes:
Explore and enrich data
- Either start from scratch or add on to your existing data. Combine structured data, documents, and websearch for a unified view.
- Pull in data for competitive analysis, market research, benchmarking and more.
Domain knowledge management customized for your use case, and ongoing evaluations for reliable updates
- Their platform makes it possible to adjust, and test the integration of domain knowledge at scale, so you know updates work and are an improvement over what came before.
- They generate 1000s of samples for each of their analysts, capturing issues so they can solve them, and know objectively that their changes improve performance.
Integrations for your existing data sources
- They work with data of all types, integrating with platforms like Google Drive, BigQuery and Snowflake, and industry specific tools like iLevel. Any tool that has an API can be set up.
Transparent answers for users
- Their AI analysts always show their work, so users can verify where answers are coming from and how they were created.
- If the analyst finds a question it’s not confident in answering, it notifies the user and gives them the option to submit to a human to verify its work.
Customizable reporting and repeatable analysis
- Full control and flexibility in reports and dashboards. Insights can be added directly from the chat, gathering information from structured datasets and documents.
- Create templates to automate multi-modal analysis, enabling you to apply the same framework seamlessly across multiple entities, such as different companies or similar data sets.
In honour of Demo Day, they have put together a free preview of Spine with a dataset for batch F24’s companies and founders (plus as a bonus, data on all YC companies).
If you’re an investor:
- Don’t miss out on discovering the best of the best. You can get a comprehensive overview of who’s in this batch, what they’re doing, and which companies are most similar, and figure out which are best suited for your investment thesis.
- Track the companies you’re interested in, and create a more focused view to compare them.
- Upload pitch decks and documents from founders to enrich the dataset they have given you, and pull key insights from them, such as traction, TAM estimates and GTM strategy.
